This weeks recipe is Keto Breakfast Casserole this is recipe #3 as part of our 2019 Keto Thanksgiving Recipe series. We know that there is absolutely no reason to not remain strong on keto during the holidays. All it takes is a little bit of planning and a willingness to try new things, however even many of the traditional Thanksgiving recipes can be modified and turned into Keto Low Carb friendly dishes that the entire family can enjoy. This recipe will be a great addition to your keto food arsenal. It’s easy to make, and very versatile you can take it in many different directions. This dish would also be great for those living a Carnivore lifestyle, you can easily remove the addition of the hot sauce and you’ve got a carnivore breakfast recipe.
A breakfast casserole is one of the most delicious ways to start the day
But who wants to roll out of bed and start to work on an elaborate breakfast… You want to wake up relaxed, refreshed and ready to eat.
So, easy make ahead casserole recipes are perfect for casual family breakfasts, or special holiday brunches with friends.
Plus, you can make it the night before, it’s perfect for holidays and special events where you don’t have a lot of time to prepare in the morning. Or as the perfect bring along dish when you’re an overnight guest.
I did not need to adapt this recipe, although, it did not begin as a ketogenic dish. The great thing about this casserole is how adaptable it is. It would be delicious with other types of cheese like pepper jack or Swiss, or you could try adding more veggies, like spinach or zucchini… Other types of meat, such as ground beef or ham.
This dish is so easy, you could get your kids or grandkids to help in the kitchen as part of your holiday festivities. Make this a part of your regular rotation of food prep, and you will be sure to have a dish worth waking up for!

We made this recipe on a Thursday afternoon after work, and we had it for dinner. It does make 12 nicely proportioned pieces a it is very filling and satisfying. I had two piece on Friday, one for breakfast and one of lunch, I also had a piece for breakfast on Saturday morning and ate while writing this blog post. The breakfast casserole has held up well, and taste delicious even two days later. Our 11 year old had a piece for breakfast and also enjoyed. This recipe is a winner, and we will be using it often.

Keto Breakfast Casserole
- 9 x 13 Casserole Dish
- 12 eggs
- 1.5 pounds sausage
- 3/4 cup bacon crumbles or 12 slices
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups grated cheese
- 2 TSP hot sauce
- Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 9 x 13“ casserole baking dish.
- Crumble and brown sausage. Drain. Warm bacon crumbles with sausage. If using fresh bacon, cook and crumble.
- Put prepared meats on bottom of casserole. Sprinkle with 1 cup of the grated cheese.
- Add 12 eggs to a blender, add heavy cream, seasonings if desired, and 2 tablespoons of hot sauce. Blend until fluffy. Alternately whisk in a large bowl.
- Pour over meats and cheese in casserole dish. Add remaining grated cheese.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
- Garnish with onion if desired. Serves 12.
