Keto Chocolate Chip Pizookie Skillet Cookie

Keto Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie at Cjsketokitchen! This is a easy to make dessert recipe that your whole family will enjoy. Another popular name for this type of dessert is a Pizookie, and we use to love ordering these in our days as a “carbie.” I was super excited when Sarah mentioned that she wanted to try this recipe. This is a versatile recipe with all sorts of keto and non-keto versions all over the internet, in fact I’m pretty sure we based our recipe off of a Martha Stewart version of this dish, but we made it Keto and Low Carb friendly. We hope that you enjoy it!

Without a doubt, chocolate chip seems to be everyone’s favorite cookie…On CJ’s and I’s first traditional date, we ate at a restaurant called BJ’s… They are famous for their chocolate chip pizookie dessert. It is basically a skillet pizza cookie or a cookie shaped like a pizza eaten straight out of the oven.
Skip the cookie sheet and grab your skillet for a crowd friendly recipe for the ultimate keto chocolate chip skillet cookie!
It’s the perfect shareable dessert, and it taste like heaven with ice cream on top. What’s also pretty super Duper awesome about this cookie is that you mix it up in one bowl. All you need is a bowl, a skillet and a spoon. Unlike making a traditional batch of cookies, this treatment doesn’t require scooping, baking, and cooling multiple sheets of treats… The whole thing bakes at once in a single skillet. Plus the hot bottom and tall sides of a well seasoned cast-iron pan creates a great crust on the cookie. And this treat can go straight from the oven to the table for fun hands-on dessert or you can slice it and serve it like a tart for more elegant presentation.
By the way if you don’t own a cast iron skillet you need to get one, like now. LOL. For me it was love it at first sight. Just stick with it and you’ll feel the same. A relationship between a cook and their cast iron is one that’s forged over many years, keep it seasoned, tend it carefully, and use it regularly and you will fall in love like I did.
Skillet Chocolate Chip VARIATIONS TO TRY:
This is an excellent skillet chocolate chip cookie, but the sky is the limit when it comes to customizing this easy recipe… Here are some ideas:
- ~Add a half a cup of any of your favorite sugar-free candy to the dough. Chunks of candy bar would be super decadent.
- ~Stir in a half a cup of your favorite chopped nuts(pecans, walnuts, macadamia, etc.)
- ~Swap out milk chocolate chips for butter scotch chips, semi sweet chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips… Or even salted caramel chocolate chips or white… Any sugar-free chocolate chip you can get your hands on.
- ~ top with sugar-free vanilla ice cream or any other flavor, for a fabulous cookie sundae.
- ~ you could also bake in smaller(6 or 8 in.) skillets for a deep dish cookie experience… Or bake in a larger skillet (12 inches)for a thinner crispier skillet cookie.

FOLLOW-UP TASTE TEST by C.J.
This dessert was excellent! I was sorry to see it disappear as we enjoyed it for several days later. I actually think that it tasted better the next day, I’m not sure why but it seemed as though the flavors had time to meld overnight. We did not refrigerate ours and it only lasted 2 days after we made it. Keep in mind that this is made with Almond Flour and almond flour differs from regular flour and the desserts tend to be bit heavier versus using regular flour. Unfortunately that just the nature of the product. We topped ours with some sugar free vanilla ice cream and of course that is optional. I’m tempted as I write this to ask Sarah to make another one just so we can enjoy it a bit longer. This was really delicious and our kids enjoyed it as well. This is a nice treat that your family will enjoy. I think you’ll really enjoy this recipe. Don’t forget you can share photos or your creations over in the Facebook Group or on Pinterest.
