This weeks recipe is the Big Mac Salad, this is a low carb keto friendly recipe that captures the flavors of the famous Big Mac sandwich which is loved world wide. This part of our 4 week summer salads series, and this requires minimal cooking. We absolutely loved this recipe and we are sure your family will as well.
I remember growing up as a child in Washington D.C. and there was a contest where if you could say all of the ingredients of the Big MAC you could win a free one, at least that’s what the story was. So I practiced, and practiced and to this day I can still remember all of the ingredients:
Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun…
Wow that brings back memory’s. My daughter Izzy who is 10, loves, loves, loves the Big Mac and it’s her go to sandwich at McDonald’s.
This recipes and combined with the sauce truly does capture of the flavor of the Big Mac. We ended up making a bit of extra sauce for ours. I would imagine that this probably would taste better as it sat. However, if you were serving this at a gathering you might want to wait until just before serving to combine your cooked ground beef. It’s also important to drain your ground beef throughly before combine with your salad. We hope you and your family enjoy this easy to make salad.

Big Mac Salad
- 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp Pickles diced
- 2 tsp Mustard
- 1 tsp White vinegar
- 1/2 tsp Smoked paprika
- 1 1/2 tbsp Powdered erythritol or any sweetener of choice; adjust to taste
- Cook ground beef in a skillet over high heat. Season with sea salt and black pepper. Stir fry, breaking up the pieces with a spatula, for about 7-10 minutes, until the beef is browned and moisture has evaporated.
- Meanwhile, puree all the dressing ingredients in a blender. If dressing is thicker than you like, thin out with water or oil and puree again. Adjust sweetener to taste. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Combine the remaining salad ingredients in a large bowl. Add the ground beef. Toss with dressing.
