This week we bring you a recipe for Keto Biscuit and Sausage Gravy–I bet you didn’t see that coming.  Who’s says that Keto has to be boring, where you eat the same old food all the time.  That’s not how we roll, variety in your keto diet is vital for your long term success.

Keto Biscuits and Gravy

 

Almond flour biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups almond flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 3TB diced very cold butter
  • 1 egg

Instructions:

  • * Preheat oven to 350°
  • * whisk together dry ingredients well
  • * mash your butter into the dry ingredients until it’s a crumbly sandy mixture 
  • * dig a well in the center and add egg and cream
  • * combine the mixture being careful not to overwork it
  • * form dough into 6 biscuits and place on parchment paper covered sheet
  • * bake for 15 to 20 minutes (oven times vary)

  • Servings 6
  • Calories: 296
  • Fat: 27 grams
  • Protein: 10 grams
  • Carbs: 7
  • Fiber: 3
  • Net carb amount is 4 per biscuit 

Keto Sausage Gravy

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1.  Heat a large skillet over medium high heat and cook sausage, breaking into small chunks with your spoon.
  2. Cook until browned, Drain off excess fat.
  3. Over medium low heat, sprinkle xanthum gum evenly over sausage, and stir in.
  4.    Stir in spices
  5. Gradually add stock a little bit at a time, stirring between additions.
  6. Increase heat to medium and bring mixture to simmer. Continue stirring frequently until mixture thickens to a gravy-like texture.
  7. Stir in heavy cream. Bring mixture to a simmer, stirring frequently. Turn heat to low until gravy has thickened to the desired consistency.
  8. Stir in salt and pepper.  Adjust seasonings to taste.
  9. Remove from heat and serve over biscuits.

  1. I’m very excited to try this Keto biscuit & gravy recipe. It just so happens that I live in GA, where everything is battered and fried. Biscuits & gravy is one of my favorite dishes. I can’t make biscuits, but when I try this, can I substitute buttermilk for the heavy cream? I know that it will add more calories, but come on buttermilk biscuits – totally awesome.
